These audio files provide instructions for two grounding exercises that are designed to help you focus on the here & now. The are extraordinarily helpful when feeling overwhelmed or distracted by the past of future, or perhaps the thoughts in your mind or feelings in your body. It’s important to learn the skill first and practice whenever you are able to do so. This better ensures that when you are distressed, you will be more likely to use these exercises, & they will be more likely to be effective in grounding you in the here & now.
Of course, these Mindfulness techniques are not just for managing stress. They also help us to tune into how we are feeling, listen more effectively to others & encouraging us to slow down & enjoy the moment.
