SIGNATURE WOMEN’S CIRCLE

SWEET SPACE

Saturday, September 6th

12 noon - 1pm EST

Autumn Soirée.

This summer I took myself out on a weekly adventure which consisted simply of sitting at a local restaurant at the bar with my newest book and having a refreshing, new cocktail while I waited for the Take Out I was bringing for dinner with my dad. I learned a fabulous new trick - check out the recipe (click the green button) for a clever little Tip that will take this mocktail to the next level, or next season … Autumn. There’s something kind of witchy about it that I LOVE.

Something else I savored this Summer was my weekly making of a pitcher of dark crimson hibiscus iced tea. I will say that I never had hibiscus tea before. Who knew how much I love Hibiscus!

And again for both the TIP & crimson color, this recipe reminds me of both the best of Summer and early Fall!

It’s time to LAUNCH this Sweet Space!

Let’s get grounded in September by Visioning & Discussing all the things we are looking forward to in the coming Month & Season.

We will make time to take time for a little Reflection, some Mindful, Intentional, Day-Dreaming, maybe some “light” Journaling to Plant the Seeds for Creating our Autumn Harvest!

Sweet Space is coming Soon…

Circle:

Creativity

While exploring what I wanted to share with you in our September Circle on Creativity, I was greatly inspired by the book The Book of Alchemy by Suleika Jaouad.

This beautiful New York Times Bestseller is a guide to the art of journaling—and a meditation on the central questions of life—by the bestselling author of Between Two Kingdoms, with contributions from Hanif Abdurraqib, Jon Batiste, Salman Rushdie, Gloria Steinem, George Saunders, Martha Beck & many more!

She references The Bierut 100 Day Challenge, also known as The 100 Day Project, a creative challenge where individuals repeat a specific design or creative operation daily for 100 days, originating from a 2006 assignment by graphic designer Michael Bierut to his Yale students. The project grew into an online movement, encouraging consistency and daily practice in a chosen creative field, with participants sharing their progress and outcomes on social media.

Our Sweet Space 30 Day Creativity Challenge: I will tell you all about this when we meet. No need to do anything now, just wanted to share some inspiration in case you are interested…

How It Works.

Choose a "Creative Endeavour”: Select a single, repeatable creative task that you will perform every day.

  1. Execute Daily: Dedicate time each day for 30 consecutive days to your chosen project.

  2. Document and Share: Record your progress and share your work with anyone and everyone whom you choose. We will also share or discuss challenges at our Community Gathering later in the month, to build community and stay accountable.

Examples of Creativity.

  • Writing: Writing a short poem or a piece of creative writing.

  • Crafts: Engaging in knitting, stitching, or other textile arts.

  • Visual Arts: Creating a sketch, photograph, or painting daily.

Why Participate?

  • Build Consistency:

The challenge emphasizes daily practice, helping to foster discipline and a consistent creative output.

  • Spur Creativity:

Daily repetition can lead to exceptionally creative thought and the exploration of new ideas.

  • Foster a "Done is Better Than Perfect" Mindset:

The emphasis is on the daily intention and the process, encouraging a practical approach to creation.

  • Connect with Community
